This year, for the first time, Barrowby church will be co-ordinating and hosting a range of activities as part of The Great Big Green Week

The Great Big Green Week is the UK’s biggest celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature.

During the week and all over the country, communities, schools, businesses, churches, mosques, and more will together in a wave of support for action to protect the planet.  Here in Barrowby we are doing our bit because by making small, positive changes together, we can build a greener, safer, and fairer future for all.

Aspire Music annual concert

Join us for the Aspire Music annual concert - This year with a Great Big Green Week theme

Aspire Music pupils will showcase their musical talents and there will also be a special  performance by the NewTones choir led by Ellie Wood.

As is usual with these events there will be tea and cake and a raffle.

It is a *Free* event but a £5 donation per adult would be gratefully received, proceeds will be split between All Saints Church and a second organization, to be announced soon.

Barrowby Big Bio-Blitz

Join us in the churchyard and see how much wildlife and how many different plants you can find.

No experience necessary so if you can't tell a rook from a robin or a dandelion from a daffodil, it doesn't matter, there are two great (free) apps that can help: iNaturalist and Merlin Bird ID. Follow these links with your phone to find out more information and download the apps

Spend a relaxing afternoon looking round Kate and Phil's lovely gardens and enjoy some tea and cake in the process.

From a veg plot to herbaceous bedding, and from mature shrubs to a pond, there is something for everyone.

You may even see the friendly garden dragon.

There is no admission but donations towards All Saints Church are welcome.

Barrowby Eco Fayre

Come and join us at our first ever Eco Fayre.

There will be free bike safety checks / minor repairs and anti theft identity marking: 

Families please bring your bikes along for a free health check and security marking so that you can enjoy that Sunday bike ride, cycle to school or work with confidence. Courtesy of Grantham BHive Bike Repair Workshop and SKDC. Also if you hvae a bike you no longer need, please bring it along and BHive will take it for refurbishing. 

Build a bird box - buy a kit to build on the day or take home to make for your garden shed, tree, fence.  £5 per kit - for Robins, Bluetits, and Sparrows, Courtesy of Barrowby Parish Council.

Plant Stall including wildflowers and veg

Children's craft, and fun activities for all the family, including a Wonder Bugs drop-in sesssion.

Learn about Bats, Bees, Butterflies, Hedgehogs, Sustainable Transport, Energy Saving, Waste and Recycling, and Opportunities for Volunteering, Exercise, and Health.

Filled rolls, cakes, and refreshments served throughout the day.

Join us for our monthly Families Service, this time we will be worshipping in the beauty of our churchyard. 

It will be a great way to round off The Great Big Green Week by thanking God for his wonderful creation and asking for His help to be good stewards of it.

Butterfly Bed Planting

Join us on the Village Green (Steven's Gutter) to help plant up a bed of perennial shrubs and wildflowers which our fluttery (and buzzy) friends will love.
