Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care and Prayer

Time of Prayer for Healing

This takes place during our monthly weekday worship (4th Wednesday at 2pm)

If you cannot come in person  or know someone who would like to be included, please write your/their name on a slip of paper and place it in the box which is by the door in church. If you feel able to give an example of the problem that is helpful. For example - “Fred in pain from his back."

If you would like to come but are a bit unsure about it, please be reassured that it is a very peaceful service, with a simple liturgy. We pray by name for those for whom prayer has been requested and there is an opportunity for the laying on of hands - which simply means that one of the people leading the service will place a hand on your shoulder and pray for you using the prayers set for the service.

Pastoral Care

Would you or anyone you know like a visit from a member of our Pastoral Team? We have a team of trained people who would be very happy to visit anyone who is in need of some company and a chat. Please e-mail the parish office if you or someone you know would welcome a visit.

Keeping Safe

Most of the time at church we are like a big happy family. However even in very happy families people can have a bad day and even people we know and trust can upset us. We want to help everyone have good days all of the time. We try to make sure that people who have jobs in the church always behave well and in a way that is helpful to you.

We never want anyone or anything in church to frighten you, confuse you or worry you. It is important that you tell us if something is upsetting you or if you are feeling worried about something that’s happening or something somebody is doing.

We have specially trained people who you can talk to and who you can ask for help. These people are good at safeguarding. This means they look after everyone’s safety. Caring for people is a very important part of our Christian life.

The people who can help you are the parish priest or the parish safeguarding officer, Debbie Wartnaby. If you wish to speak to someone outside the church you can contact the diocesan safeguarding team via safeguarding.admin@lincoln.anglican.org telephone 01522 504068. There is also more information here.
